Pennsylvania state police were called to a fight at the Mount Union Dairy Queen along US 22 on Thursday, Mar. 3 just after noon, the release shows.
When they arrived at the restaurant, owned and operated by Carol Stutzman, 55, they learned she had been stabbed multiple times by her daughter and employee, according to police and social media posts by the family.
Her daughter fled to her car when customers tried to break up the bloody mother-daughter fight, police say.
That's when she speed off, striking pedestrian, Kaine Thomas Swope, 32, of Mount Union, but instead of staying on the scene, she went home— where police say they found and arrested her.
Katelyn Marie Stutzman, 18, of McVeytown, has been charged with attempted criminal homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of recklessly endangering another person, court records show.
She has been held in the Mifflin County Prison where she has been denied bail, according to court and prison records.
Her preliminary hearing has been scheduled before Magisterial District Judge Jack E. Miller at 9 a.m. Mar. 16, her court docket shows.
Her mom and Swope were taken to UPMC Altoona for care, police say. Additional information on their conditions has not been released.
